A native of Chapin, South Carolina, Jesse Kaiser is a composer, conductor, and performer whose work has led him to ensembles, festivals, and concert halls throughout the United States. Primarily a composer, Jesse has composed music for a wide variety of musicians and ensembles, ranging a multitude of styles and techniques. As a performer, he is heavily influenced by contemporary music, having studied and performed many works of living composers and commissioned new works himself. He is Co-Founder and Vice President of Novus Music Publishing—a music publishing company dedicated to the exposure of new, obscure, and eclectic composers—and Director of the greater-Columbia chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). He also serves as a cantor/choral scholar at the Basilica of St. Peter in Columbia, and performs in the chamber choir Limited Time Only.
Jesse is currently pursuing a B.M. in Composition and a Certificate in Violin Performance from the University of South Carolina School of Music, where he has studied with John Fitz Rogers, Fang Man, Michael Bies (composition), and Ari Streisfeld (violin). He performs in the Symphony Orchestra, Men’s Chorus, and Graduate Vocal Ensemble, as well as various chamber ensembles, and is very active as a performer in the greater Columbia area.
