   MATTHEW TAYLOR, Principal Tenor

Matt Taylor is an Associate Choral Director at Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, SC. At Wando he directs the intermediate and advanced women’s choirs, in addition to assisting with the freshman and senior-level choirs. Matt has worked regularly as a guest clinician with other schools and church choirs. While in Baton Rouge, he served as the Director of Evening Worship at St. Alban’s Episcopal Chapel. As a vocalist, Matt has performed in collegiate, community, and professional choirs across the southeast.

 

In addition to choral music, Matt is an active instrumentalist and composer. As a double bassist he holds 12 years of experience in classical and jazz performance. At LSU he performed regularly with the school’s graduate jazz combos. He is frequently sought as a choral arranger, and has arranged for 20+ competitive showchoir sets.

 

Matt holds degrees in music from Samford University (2014; Composition) and Louisiana State University (2016; MM Choral Conducting).
