
MICHAEL LAIRD
Baritone
Michael is a proud native of Bayville, New Jersey. Michael became a member of the Army Band Program and spent 20 years serving in bands throughout the world. While in Hawaii, Michael created the 25 th Infantry Division Tropic Lightning Chorus. While in the Army Michael completed a BSOE in Music from Wayland Baptist University and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He retired from the military at Fort McPherson, GA and became a
Hospice Chaplain. Michael, his wife and boys moved to Charleston to begin a new chapter in their lives, where he serves as a Chaplain at Agape Care South Carolina.
Michael has served as an Oboist in many orchestras including the Seoul Symphony, the National Orchestra of Panama, the New Jersey Symphony and Ballet, and created the National Youth Orchestra of Panama and a youth orchestra summer camp for talented youth in Panama. In Charleston Michael served as the Choir Director at Circular Congregational Church and as a vocalist at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Currently Michael is a vocalist at St. James Episcopal Church, James Island. Michael continues to perform across the lowcountry as an oboist and vocalist.
