Founded in January, 2019, by Judith and David Acres, CANTORES CHARLESTON is a professional vocal ensemble that specializes in multiple genres of choral music from across the centuries, composed and arranged especially for Soprano, Alto and Countertenor voices. This choir transports audiences to the very heavens!
 

Building on the successful tradition of their Cleveland-based high-voice ensemble, Contrapunctus Early Music, David and Judith sought to bring the same glorious choral music to audiences in the Southeast. The King's Counterpoint's Angel Voices concerts were so warmly received in and around Charleston, South Carolina, that David and Judith decided to create a dedicated high voices chamber ensemble to as a vehicle to highlight this incredible choral repertoire - not to mention some of the finest upper voices in and around the Lowcountry!
