The King’s Counterpoint is excited to announce that we have been invited to Wells Cathedral in Somerset, England, for a week-long Choral Residency - returning to the location of our very first KCP Residency in 2016!

 

But we need YOUR help to make it happen!

As a small regional non-profit, donor support is vital to KCP’s success. Our Directors and Board take no payment for their time and efforts, and instead choose to focus the organization’s resources on opportunities for musical and cultural enrichment for our vocalists such as Wells, 2027.

The choir will be singing for Choral Evensong 

services throughout the week of the Residency, as

well as Matins and Mass on Sunday, to a congregation

of visitors from around the world. It will be an

incredible experience for all of our vocalists!

Wells Cathedral ("Inspiring pilgrims for over 850

years") is the seat of the bishop of Bath and Wells, and

in 2023 it was reported to receive over 300,000 visitors per year. The cathedral precincts contain the Bishop's Palace and several buildings linked to its medieval chapter of secular canons, including the 14th-century Vicars' Close, believed to be the only complete medieval street left in England. Wells has been called "unquestionably one of the most beautiful" and "most poetic" of English cathedrals. ​
