
CRYSTA CALDWELL
Mezzo-Soprano
Crysta Caldwell earned a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of South Carolina’s School of Music with an emphasis in choral music education and a diversified certification in instrumental music education. While earning her degree, Crysta performed in several musical ensembles including the USC Marching Band (on piccolo), University band (on flute), Palmetto Pans (on steel drum), Women’s Chorus, University Chorus, and the USC Concert Choir. She has traveled and performed nationally with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps and internationally with the USC Concert Choir.
Since graduating in 2021, Crysta has performed with the Carolina Wind Symphony and Étude World Class Winter Guard. Crysta has taught color guard across the US in numerous state and world-finalist programs. She continues to use her passion for music and the marching arts to inspire her love for teaching and performing in various musical art forms.
Crysta currently teaches elementary music at Daniel Island School. After school, she can be found assistant coaching the award-winning Wando High School Color Guard program. Crysta spends her weekends as a staff singer at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in downtown Charleston and is elated to begin this new journey of singing with The King’s Counterpoint!
