About the Event

The 2023 Installment of KCP's Annual HANDELIAN ORATORIO SERIES

Sponsored by Dr. Michael S. Kogan, in loving memory of his brother, Barton H. Kogan

In this compelling and intimate musical drama, the Baroque’s master storyteller George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) tells the story of ESTHER, the Jewish orphan who becomes Queen of Persia and saves her people from massacre by the villain Haman. Don’t miss this wonderful tale of a truly triumphant heroine, told in dramatic arias and incomparable choruses!

Handel's landmark work of 1732 was an incredible musical event, one which launched the genre of the English Oratorio. And The King's Counterpoint couldn't be more excited to bring back some of our dear friends to help us bring you this wonderful story - bass Eric Bash, countertenor Joseph Schlesinger, tenor Paul Thompson, and the NC Baroque Orchestra!
