Join King's Counterpoint Chamber Ensemble VOX REGIS as we explore the beautiful music of Thomas Tallis and William Byrd - colleagues, dear
friends, and two of the most influential composers of 16th-century England.
When his teacher and colleague Thomas Tallis died in 1585, Bryd wrote ‘Tallis ys dead and music dies’ – a lament which captures the esteem and veneration in which Tallis was held by his musical colleagues in the 16th century and, indeed, by the four monarchs he served at the Chapel Royal.
Join us as we celebrate and venerate these two incredible composers by sharing some of their most beautiful choral music - works that spanned the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI, Queen Mary, and Queen Elizabeth.
This is a FREE ADMISSION Event - Tickets are not required. Donations will be accepted at the time of the concert.
