SABRINA LAFLEUR

Soprano

Originating from Natick, Massachusetts, Sabrina joins King’s Counterpoint from her current home in Richmond, Virginia. Trained since the age of four through the Kodály music method, Sabrina began singing in choirs at the age of six. Her earliest vocal education included individualized vocal studies at the Rivers Music Conservatory in Weston, Massachusetts. Throughout her youth, she participated in multiple years of school choirs, chamber choirs, church choirs, all-district choirs, all-state choirs and musical theater performances. Furthering her pursuit of a strong foundation to the performance arts, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Music Theory and Latin/Classics from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. Her higher education included a strong emphasis on solo and ensemble vocal performance, which strengthened her capacity to participate in multiple choir, chamber and jazz ensembles, concurrently. Today, Sabrina continues to embrace her love for ensemble performance and since college has toured with choirs in England, Wales, Italy, France and around the US. She currently enjoys holding the position of choir staff singer for multiple churches in Richmond, Virginia, calling St. James’s Episcopal her mainstay since 2007. Some of her favorite composers to sing are Byrd, Tallis and Palestrina and her favorite languages to sing in are French, German, Latin and Italian.
